FAQs
Are your classes suitable for beginners?
Beginners are welcome at all classes! Some classes may move more quickly in pace than others so if you've never danced before it's best to get in touch to find out which class would be most suitable.

Typically, I will teach the same exercises for 4-6 weeks at a time so if you join at the end of the block the pace of the class may be quicker than at the start. Don't worry, you'll have the chance to pick up the new steps when we start the next set of exercises!
Is there an age limit for classes?
Classes are open to adults aged 18+. There is no upper age limit!

Silver Swans classes are specially designed for over-55s but all ages are welcome to attend.

1:1 tuition is offered for ages 8+.
What should I wear?
Just wear whatever you feel comfortable moving in - like you would wear to an exercise class.

To try ballet it's best to have footwear that allows you to point and flex at the ankle, without too much grip on the floor. Socks are fine!

For tap classes, I'd recommend a sturdy closed toe shoe, preferably with a low heel.
Do your classes run during school holidays?
Generally, our classes run throughout the year with the exception of Christmas and bank holidays. Occasionally I may take time off for holidays and training days - this will be communicated in class and via email and social media.
How much do classes cost?
Class prices vary depending on whether you book a pass or pay as you go. You can book your classes online here. Class passes are only available online.

1:1 tuition prices vary depending on location. Please get in touch for more details.
Do I have to sign up for several weeks at a time?
You can pay as you go cash or card at class. If you attend classes regularly you can purchase a 'class pass' online for either 5 or 10 classes, which offers a discounted rate.

Payment for 1:1 tuition is required a minimum of 72hrs in advance. Please see payment and cancellation terms upon enrolment.
What performance opportunities are there?
Each year we hold our Spring Gala dance show and fundraising event where everyone is welcome to take part – whether that’s performing, fundraising or helping backstage.

Throughout the year there are often opportunities to perform at smaller community events such as fetes, care homes etc.
Do I have to take part in performances?
Lots of our dancers love performing, but if it’s not for you, that’s ok! Taking part in performances is not mandatory and you can fully participate in all our classes and social activities without getting up on stage.
There are so many reasons to attend dance classes – whether you’re simply looking for a weekly exercise class to keep active, to meet like-minded friends, or to fulfil your dreams of performing!
